Community guidelines

ServerSift exists to help people find communities worth joining. That only works if every listing is honest, safe and reachable. These guidelines apply to server listings, tags, reports, appeals and sponsored creatives.

Listings we welcome

  • Real, active communities submitted by someone who manages them.
  • Safe-for-work content and purpose, in every channel a new member can see.
  • Accurate names, descriptions and tags that describe what the server is actually about.
  • A permanent (or long-lived) invite that works. Dead invites are removed from discovery automatically.
  • Servers that follow Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Never allowed

Listings in these categories are removed on sight and the submitter may be banned:

  • Sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises or endangers minors.
  • Pornography, sexual services, or servers marked NSFW on Discord.
  • Terrorism, violent extremism, or credible threats of violence.
  • Malware, phishing, credential or token theft, account selling, ban evasion, or “free Nitro” style scams.
  • Fraud, illegal marketplaces, drug or weapon sales, doxxing or harassment campaigns.
  • Hate communities targeting people for who they are.
  • Anything organised around breaking the law.

Not allowed in listings

  • Keyword stuffing, repeated characters, walls of emoji, hidden Unicode, or copy-pasted spam text.
  • Misleading member counts, fake activity, or descriptions that do not match the server.
  • Duplicate listings of the same server, or listing a server you do not manage.
  • Links to URL shorteners, IP loggers, or domains on our block list.
  • Raw HTML or scripts. Descriptions support a safe subset of Markdown only.
  • Tags that are unrelated to the server or that exist only to catch searches.

Bumps and ranking

/bump is rate-limited (two hours by default, configurable by ServerSift). Coordinating bumps, automating them, or generating traffic to game trending or activity is manipulation and will cost you the listing.

Reports and appeals

Reports are reviewed by people. False or abusive reports are themselves a violation. Owners of removed listings get one appeal per decision; be specific about what changed.

Enforcement

Depending on severity we may request changes, suspend a listing while we look, reject it, or ban it permanently. All actions are logged. Repeat or severe violations lead to account suspension.
