Reporting and removal

Reporting a server

Every public server page has a Report button. Pick a reason — scam, malware or phishing, illegal activity, sexual or explicit content, minor-safety concern, hate or harassment, invalid invite, misleading listing, spam, or other — and add details if you can. You do not need an account.

What happens next:

  1. The report is stored with a reporter identifier (your account, your anonymous session, or a hashed IP) so we can prevent duplicates and abuse. Reporters are never shown to server owners.
  2. Report text passes through the same automated moderation as listings.
  3. We compute a risk score for the listing that weighs the reason, whether details were given, whether the reporter is signed in, how many distinct people have reported it, and how recent the reports are.
  4. When the score crosses a threshold, a moderation case opens and a moderator is notified. Reports never remove a listing automatically; a person decides.
  5. Moderators can dismiss the report, request changes, suspend, or remove the listing. Every decision is logged.

For anything involving the safety of a minor or an immediate threat, report to Discord’s Trust & Safety team as well — they can act inside the server, which we cannot.

Removing your own listing

Owners can unpublish or delete a listing from the dashboard at any time; it disappears from search and browse immediately and from search engines as their indexes refresh. Removing the ServerSift bot from your server stops activity measurement but leaves the listing in place.

Removing a listing you did not submit

Listings can only be created by someone with Manage Server or Administrator permission, verified through Discord. If a server you own appears here and you did not authorise it, sign in with Discord — you will see the listing in your dashboard and can remove it or take over management. If that does not work, report the listing with the reason “misleading listing” and explain; we will verify with Discord’s data and act.

Appeals

If your listing was rejected, suspended or removed, the dashboard shows the reason and an appeal form. You get one appeal per decision: explain what happened, what you changed, and any supporting information. Appeals go to a moderator, who can reinstate the listing, keep the decision, or permanently remove it.

Copyright and legal notices

Server names, icons and banners are shown as Discord publishes them. If you believe a listing infringes your rights, send a notice with the listing URL, what is infringed, proof you hold the rights, and contact details. We will remove the material while we assess the claim.
