Terms of service
These terms cover your use of ServerSift, a directory and search engine for Discord communities. By using the site you agree to them. ServerSift is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc.
1. Who can use ServerSift
You must be old enough to use Discord in your country (at least 13, older where local law requires). Signing in requires a Discord account in good standing.
2. Listings are opt-in
Only people who own a server or hold the Administrator or Manage Server permission may submit it. By submitting a server you confirm that you have that authority, that the information you provide is truthful, and that you will keep it up to date. We verify permissions through Discord and may re-check them at any time; if you lose the permission, you lose the ability to manage the listing.
3. Safe for work, always
ServerSift lists safe-for-work communities only. Servers marked NSFW on Discord, or whose purpose or content is sexual, are not eligible and will be removed. Our community guidelines describe everything else that is not allowed.
4. Review and removal
Every submission passes automated checks and may be reviewed by a person before it becomes public. We may reject, request changes to, suspend, or permanently remove any listing that breaks these terms, the guidelines, Discord’s own Terms and Community Guidelines, or the law — and we may do so without prior notice when safety requires it. Owners may appeal one time per decision through their dashboard.
5. Activity measurement and the bot
Adding the ServerSift bot is optional but required for the Verified badge, activity indicators and /bump. The bot records aggregate message counts per hour only, as described on the activity measurement page. By adding it you confirm you may allow that measurement in your server and that you will not use the bot to inflate signals artificially.
6. Ranking, bumps and honesty
Organic ranking is decided by ServerSift’s own signals: relevance, listing quality, activity, join behaviour and report history. /bump refreshes a listing’s discovery activity within rate limits and does not buy a position. Attempts to manipulate ranking — fake traffic, bot-generated messages, coordinated bumping, misleading descriptions or duplicate listings — may result in removal and a ban.
7. Sponsored placement
Paid placements are always labelled “Sponsored” or “Featured”, follow the advertising policy, and never change organic ranking. Advertisers agree to the same content rules as listings.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the text and images you submit. You grant ServerSift a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display, index, cache, moderate and create derivatives (such as social preview images) of that content for the purpose of running the service. Discord server names, icons and banners remain the property of their owners and are shown as Discord makes them publicly available.
9. Acceptable use
Do not scrape the site, overload it, probe it for vulnerabilities, file false reports, harass moderators, or use ServerSift to collect information about Discord users. Automated access is limited to well-behaved search crawlers that respect robots.txt.
10. No warranty
We work hard to keep listings accurate and invites live, but ServerSift is provided “as is”. We do not endorse any listed server, and activity or rating indicators are measurements, not recommendations. Joining a server is at your own risk; Discord’s rules apply inside it.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, ServerSift is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site or from any listed community. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, which for most people is nothing.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site; continued use after that means you accept them.
13. Contact
Questions or notices can be sent through the reporting and removal page.
